Your internship mentor will help you land an internship for the summer, develop a portfolio, network with peers and other employers, and help you get the most out of your internship experience.

Internship Description:

AA needs marketing assistance from one or two interns. Must be an upcoming Junior or Senior. The internship is 10 hours per week. May be paid depending on level of skills and experience.

Projects include:
1) Updated website
-Coordinate with Lakeview Computer
-Write new copy
-Photos

2) Updated marketing/media kit
-Based on completed website
-Update spec sheets on specific products

Centaur Stride Job Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION- Start date May 15, 2009

Centaur Stride Therapeutic Riding Center, located in Sherman, NY is looking for a creative, resourceful and energetic person to join our staff. Centaur Stride is a not-for-profit organization, and depends on fundraisers, donations and grants for day-to-day operations. Centaur Stride opened in 1993 and provides service to more than 100 individuals with disabilities per year. They also provide an after-school program. Centaur Stride continually develops and markets programs to meet the needs of our community, specifically for individuals with disabilities and their families. Our barn currently stables 14 horses and is open year round. Our mission includes integration of both the non-disabled and disabled riders. Applicants much be able to teach horseback riding to non-disabled riders and will work with the physical therapist to adapt lessons for those with disabilities.

Our staff is cross-trained since a core staff must see to all phases of operation, including care and training of horses, instruction of riders, barn and facility maintenance and supervision and training of volunteers.

Presently, we are seeking a person with a focus on instruction, horse training and program development. A Program Director Position will be open in September. Presently, there are no health benefits.

Chautauqua Institution and Athenaeum Hotel Job Fair

Chautauqua Institution and the Athenaeum Hotel are once again looking toward the 2009 season. We would like to invite all interested parties to attend a job fair being held at the Turner Community Center on Route 394 (across from Andriaccio’s). Representatives from most of our institution departments and the Athenaeum Hotel, Refectory, After Words CafĂ©, Bellinger Hall and Plaza Market will be on hand to answer questions and take applications. If anyone is unable to attend, but would still like to complete an application, they are available on our websites. The Institution website is http://www.ciweb.org/. Web Developer/PHP Intern

Judicial Internship

Employer: Office of Court Administration Volunteer program for Hon. Joseph Gerace, JHO

Description: This internship is a great opportunity for a student looking to gain experience in the judicial system or to earn academic credit, but work a flexible schedule. Judge Gerace is willing to work with a student that may need to supplement this unpaid internship with a paying a job. The intern will have the opportunity to:

1. Learn and execute process of analysis to review and draft comments on cases involving challenges to tax assessments on real property owned by various businesses and industries. Outline and evaluate pertinent facts on which challenges to and defense of assessments on real property are based.
2. Organize files in Chambers.
3. Prepare a plan and work schedule, letters to organizations and publicity relating to The People's Law School at Jamestown Community College to educate attendees on laws and regulations the average person would encounter such as Ownership and Rental of Real Property, Elder Law, Wills and Estates, Traffic Violations and Criminal Law, Family Law including Divorce and, Custody, Commercial Law, Labor Law, etc.; attend as many sessions as intern's schedule allows to assist JCC staff and attorney presenters to register attendees, present handouts.
4. Assist in registration, distribution of material, organization of People’s Law School seminars at the college.
5. Assist judge with preparation for Summary Jury Trials in Supreme Court at the Chautauqua County Courthouse.
6. Assist in organization and printing of documents for a Continuing Legal Education courses for attorneys and judges; attend sessions if schedule permits.
7. Provide program assistance to Robert H. Jackson Center Inn of Court.

This internship opportunity also provides extensive networking opportunity with attorneys and others in the court system, and first-hand knowledge of job openings and how the civil service system operates.

Graphic Design Intern

This unique and innovative program will support a group of interns to be placed in paid internships at businesses supported by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation in Downtown Jamestown, NY. Internships and Learning
Each intern will work a typical work day Monday – Thursday at an assigned business related to their interest. On each Friday, the interns will participate in a joint-learning day that will involve a variety of activities. Staffed by the WIB, interns will receive customized job coaching on resumes, interviewing and networking. On Fridays, you will also be exposed to a plethora of local opportunities that you may not have known existed.

The WIB-JRC Interns will also mentor a team of high school students to develop and implement a career fair for high school students to be held in May. Development of local materials on career options will not only benefit the high school students, but will provide networking and learning opportunities for the interns.

E-Net: Internship Experience 2009 Begins!

Ready to get ahead of your peers?! An internship is the way to do it! Set yourself apart from the rest by gaining experience and earn some money at the same time!

You are cordially invited to the 2nd Annual E-Net: Internship Experience on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Chautauqua Inn and Suites from 2-4pm. At this event you can network with local employers, get a head start on finding a summer internship, and possibly get an interview on the spot! Dress for success and have a resume in hand to share with employers. You will not want to miss this chance to impress and get ahead of all the rest!

Chautauqua Inn and Suites is located in Mayville, New York on Route 394 and is only about 20 miles from both Jamestown and Dunkirk. Enjoy refreshments and light finger foods while taking in the beautiful environment both inside and out!
